The trek starting from
Maneybhanjang at an altitude of 2136 meters goes
through mossy paved path through succession of
forests and hamlets giving way from time to time to
spectacular mountain scenarious, with a steady climb
to join Singalila Ridge that leads to Sandakphu,
offering a prominent viewpoint for the magnificient
sunrise over the mountains; Khangchendjunga, Jano,
Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Pandim. |

| Day 01: |
Bagdogra – Darjeeling
Arrival at Bagdogra and then drive to
Darjeeling by road which takes about 4
Hours. Darjeeling is at an elevation of 2134
meters above sea level.(Overnight stay in
Darjeeling) |
| Day 02: |
Sightseeing in
Darjeeling
Early morning visit to Tiger Hill to view
sunrise over Mt Khangchendzonga, the third
highest peak in the world. On the way back
visit Yiga Choling Monastery, the old
Buddhiest Monastery built in 1880.
Back to Hotel for Breakfast
A.M: Visit Tukvar Tea estate to see tea
processing. On the way back visit Tibetan
Refugee Self Help Centre which was
established in 1959 to rehabilitate
displaced Tibetans, who had followed His
Holiness the Dalai Lama to India. It has now
evolved into a prime-manufacturing center
for excellent ethnic Tibetan handicraft
especially Woollen Carpets.It also helps to
preserve the cultural heritage of Tibet.
Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
established in 1954 after the conquest of
Mount Everest to impart training in high
altitude mountaineering. There is a museum
on mountaineering, which you can visit.
Visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological
Park which houses many endangered animals
from the Himalayan region. It is also a
breeding centre for Snow Leopards, Red Panda
and Tibetan Wolf.

| Day 03: |
Darjeeling –
Manaybhanjang – Tonglu
Early morning drive to Maneybhanjang a small
village from where trek begins. Trail to
Tonglu the first camp site is a steep 7 Km
climb till Meghma which takes about three
and half hours. Meghma is a tiny village
with few houses a small monastery and an
inspiring Chorten (stupas). Meghma to Tonglu
(3,070 meters) is another 2Km. Tonglu over
looks the entire Darjeeling Hills and offers
a breathtaking view of Mt
Khangchendzonga.(Overnight stay in Tonglu) |
| Day 04: |
Tonglu – Gairibas –
Kaliapokhai.
Trail from Tonglu first reaches Gairibas
(2.621 meters). The trail pases through
bamboo clumps and farmland and is a fairly
level 9 Km walk. The steep climb from
Gairibas to Kalipokhari (3170 meters) takes
three hours which is compensated by
incredible scenic beauty (Overnight stay in
Kalipokhari) |
| Day 05: |
Kalipokhari –
Sandakphu.
Trail from Kalipokhari climbs for two and
half kilometers to Bikhabhanjang. From here
it is a challenging 4 Kms climb through
thick rhododendron and magnolia forests to
Sandakphu. Summit of Sandakphu (3636 meters)
provides some of the finest close-up views
of the snow capped mountains that stretch
from towerring Mt Everest to Mt
Khangchandzonga. The sight of
Khangchendzonga with a cluster of other
peaks – Kabru, Jano, Pandim, Everest, Lhotse
and Makalu in a spectacular arc makes the
trek worth every kilometer.(Overnight stay

| Day 06: |
Sandakphu – Phalut.
After trekking for four and half hours a
place called Sabarkum is reached. Further
2kms place Molley is reached. The trail from
Molley climbs through an area almost bereft
of vegetation until it raches the summit of
Phalut (3600 meters). Phalut stands at the
tri-junction of Darjeeling, Sikkim and
Nepal. The panorama of the snowy ranges with
a seemingly magnified view of Mt
Khangchendzonga is simply spell binding.

| Day 07: |
Phalut –
Samanden – Rimbick.
Return back trek is first through Phalut to
Ramam, (2560 meters) where there are two
possible routes. One via Sabarkum and other
through Samanden. The Sabarkum trail
descends through virgin forests. Samanden
also descends through virgin forests of
pine, hemlock and chestnuts till it reaches
the confluence of two streams. From here the
route climbs up to Samanden a small hamlet
in the forest. From here route first
descends and then climbs to Ramam.(Overnight
stay in Ramam) |
| Day 08: |
Ramam – Rimbick.
From Ramam the route is a level walk for the
initial 9 kms before descending to Sirikhola
from where the trail rises steeply for about
1 km after which it levels out again till
Rimbick (2296 meters).

Rimbick – Darjeeling.
Drive to Darjeeling.(Overnight stay in

| Day 10: |
Darjeeling – Bagdogra.
Drive to Bagdogra for your journey back
