The trail leads through mossy
paved path through succession of forests and hamlets
giving way from time to time to spectacular mountain
scenarious, with a steady climb to join Singalila
ridge that leads to Sandakphu. A remarkable 360º
view from the top with the enchantment of mountain
panorama. The summit of Sandakphu provides some of
the finest close-up views of the snow - capped
mountains that stretch from towering Mt Everest to
Mt Khangchendzonga. The sight of Mt Khangchendzonga
(Khangchendzonga) with a cluster of other peaks –
Kabru, Jano, Pandim, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu in a
spectacular arc makes the trek worth every kilometer
one has travelled to get here. |

SINGALILA TREK AND

| Day 01: |
Bagdogra – Darjeeling
Arrival at Bagdogra and then drive to
Darjeeling by road which takes about 4
Hours. Darjeeling is at an elevation of 2134
meters above sea level.(Overnight stay in
Darjeeling) |
| Day 02: |
Sightseeing in
Darjeeling
Early morning visit to Tiger Hill to view
sunrise over Mt Khangchendzonga, the third
highest peak in the world. On the way back
visit Yiga Choling Monastery, the old
Buddhiest Monastery built in 1880.
Back to Hotel for Breakfast
A.M: Visit Tukvar Tea estate to see tea
processing. On the way back visit Tibetan
Refugee Self Help Centre which was
established in 1959 to rehabilitate
displaced Tibetans, who had followed His
Holiness the Dalai Lama to India. It has now
evolved into a prime-manufacturing center
for excellent ethnic Tibetan handicraft
especially Woollen Carpets.It also helps to
preserve the cultural heritage of Tibet.
Visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
established in 1954 after the conquest of
Mount Everest to impart training in high
altitude mountaineering. There is a museum
on mountaineering, which you can visit.
Visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological
Park which houses many endangered animals
from the Himalayan region. It is also a
breeding centre for Snow Leopards, Red Panda
and Tibetan Wolf.

| Day 03: |
Darjeeling – Mirik -
Darjeeling
Drive to Mirik (1767 meters). Boat ride at
Sumendu Lake which is surrounded by a
beautifully maintened garden on the eastern
banks and heavily forested ridge on the
west. A leisurely stroll along the
meandering cobbled path encircling the lake
is relaxing. Visit Rameetay Dara, Devi Sthan,
Deosi Dara, Orange Orchards. Back to
Darjeeling. (Overnight stay in Darjeeling) |
| Day 04: |
Darjeeling –
Maneybhanjang – Tonglu
Early morning drive to Maneybhanjang a small
village from where trek begins. Trail to
Tonglu the first camp site is a steep 7 Km
climb till Meghma which takes about three
and half hours. Meghma is a tiny village
with few houses, a small monastery and an
inspiring chorten (stupa). Meghma to Tonglu
(3,070 meters) is another 2Km.Tonglu over
looks the entire Darjeeling Hills and offers
a breathtaking view of Mt Khangchendzonga.

| Day 05: |
Tonglu – Gairibas –
Kalipokhari - Sandakphu
Trail from Tonglu first reaches Gairibas
(2621 meters).The trail passes through
bamboo clumps and farmland and is fairly
level. The steep climb from Gairibas to
Kalipokhari (3170 meters) takes three hours.
At Kalipokhari trekkers can take short tea
break and rejuvenate their muscles.From
Kalipokhari the route first climbs for two
and half kilometers and then descends to
Bikhbhanjang. From Bikhbhanjang it is a
challenging 4 km climb through thick
rhododendron and magnolia forests to
Sandakphu (3636 meters). Summit of Sandakphu
provides some of the finest close-up views
of the snow-capped mountains that stretch
from Mt Everest to Mt
Khangchendzonga.(Overnight stay in Sandakphu)

| Day 06: |
Sandakphu – Molley
Trail from Sandakphu to Molley is relatively
easier and also the most fascinating in
terms of scenic beauty. The trail passes
through forests of rhododendrons, magnolias,
chestnut, oak and silver fir trees. All
along trekkers are in the company of the
imposing Himalaya that loom large on the
western horizon. After 14 Kms trek, a place
Sabarkum is reached. Further 2 Kms takes to
Molley. (Overnight stay in Molley) |
| Day 07: |
Molley -
Phalut - Sirikhola
The trail from Molley climbs through an area
almost bereft of vegetation until it reaches
the summit of Phalut (3600 metres) after two
hours. Phalut stands at the tri-junction of
Darjeeling, Sikkim and Nepal. The panorama
of the snowy peaks is spell binding. Trek
from Phalut to Sirikhola passes through
virgin forests. (Overnight stay in Sirikhola) |
| Day 08: |
Sirikhola – Darjeeling
The trail from Sirikhola first climbs up to
Daragaon and then descends to Rimbick (2286
meters). From Rimbick drive to Darjeeling
which takes about four hours.(Overnight stay

| Day 09: |
Darjeeling – Kalimpong
A.M, Joyride on Toy Train till Ghoom on the
world famous Toy Train (Darjeeling Himalayan
Railway) a world heritage site. Back to
Hotel for lunch.
P.M, Drive to Kalimpong which takes about
two hours via Peshoke Road.(Overnight stay
in Kalimpong) |
| Day 10: |
Sightseeing at
Kalimpong
A.M, After breakfast visit Delo View Point
in the Delo Hill. You can have a
magnificient view of the Khangchendzonga
Mountain range and River Teesta meandering
down in the Valley. On the way back visit
Mangal Dham a Hindu Temple and a Christain
Church built in a style of Tibetan
Monastery.
P.M, After lunch visit Zandok Palri Buddhist
Monastery located on top of Durpin Hills.
You can have a view of Kalimpong Town and
the Khangchendzonga Mountain Range from
here. On the way back visit flower
nurseries. Walk around the town.(Overnight
stay in Kalimpong) |

Kalimpong – Bagdogra
Drive to Bagdogra for your journey back
home. |
